The Holy Trinity Is One
We confess that these three (Holy Trinity) are not three competitive gods, divided, and
separated from each other. Absolutely not, we believe that they are one God, we believe that
the Father, who is the Source of all that exists, always has His Son and His Spirit who are not
creatures, Who were not made like everything and everyone else, but who exist eternally with
Him; from, in and by His very own divine being, equally.
What the Father is, the Son and the Spirit are also. This is the Church's teaching. The Son,
born of the Father, and the Holy Spirit, proceeding from Him, (the Father) share the divine
nature with God, being "of one essence" with Him.
As we can see from the scriptures in the Old and the New Testament, God revels Himself to his
faithful in the form of the “Holy Trinity” Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The New Testament
Genesis 1-1: As we can see from the scriptures in the Old and the New Testament God reveals
Himself to his faithful in the form of the “Holy Trinity”, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In Genesis 1-1: it
says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth”. As you know the Old Testament
written in Hebrew, and when you read this verse you will notice the word “Aloheem” is used
instead of the word “Eal”. Aloheem means Gods, plural, while Eal means God singular. This is the
first revelation of consisting of more than one divine person. If we continue reading Genesis,
several versus relate the story of God’s appearance to Abraham in the form (figure) of three men.
One notices in the dialog between God and Abraham that Abraham addresses God in both the
singular (indicating one God) and the plural (indicating more than one). The fact that God appears as
three men attaches a definite number to the plural, that of three, or three Divine Persons – a Holy
Trinity. Below are the verses:
Genesis 18:1-18 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door
in the heat of the day; And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and
when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
And said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy
servant: Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the
tree: And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for
therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, so do, as thou hast said….
And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he
stood by them under the tree, and they did eat. And they said unto him, where is Sarah thy wife?
And he said, Behold, in the tent. And He said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time
of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was
behind him…. And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with
them to bring them on the way. And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do.
There are many instances in Genesis where God talk in plural form as the following verses indicate:
Genesis 1-26: And God (Aloheem) said, Let us (the Holy Trinity) make man in our image, after our
likeness.
Genesis 3-22: And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us (the Holy Trinity).
Genesis 11-7 Go to, let us (the Holy Trinity) go down, and there confound their language, that they
may not understand one another's speech.
The Old Testament
Matthew 28-19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
As you can see our Lord He didn’t say in the names of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit but
rather He said in the name to show that the three are one.
Lets read the 1st Letter John 5-7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the
Word (the Son “Christ”), and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one.
The 1st Letter John 5-7 is absolutely and unequivocally clear that God is one, yet consists of three
Divine persons; God the Father and the Word (Son) and the Holy Spirit.
One might say the Father is greater then the Son since the Father name always mentioned first.
This is simply untrue according to the following verses:
2nd Corinthians, chapter 13 14: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.
As you can see the Apostle first mentioned the Son (The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ…) then the
Father and the Holy Spirit.
Now you may say how about the Holy Spirit, READ THIS:
Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
The Holy Spirit, God the Father, God the Son, God the Spirit is One
